  1. Stay Hydrated - Hydration is key when it comes to protecting babies and toddlers from the summer heat.   7. Pay Attention to Warning Signs - Familiarize yourself with the warning signs of heat-related illnesses, such as excessive thirst, fussiness, flushed skin, rapid breathing, or lethargy. If you notice any concerning symptoms, immediately move your child to a cooler environment, offer fluids, and seek medical attention if necessary.
